Maid Cafes in Japan are all about fun, cuteness, and hospitality, but they also have rules that Masters and Princesses (customers) must follow. To ensure an enjoyable experience, here are the general etiquette and guidelines you should know before visiting.
メイドカフェは楽しくて可愛い空間ですが、ご主人様・お嬢様（お客様）には守るべきルールがあります。快適に楽しむために、以下の基本的なマナーとルールを事前にチェックしましょう。
General Rules for Maid Cafes, Concept Cafes, Girls Bars & Hostess Clubs

No Physical Contact
Touching the Maids is strictly prohibited. This includes hugs, handshakes, or any other physical contact. Enjoy the experience while maintaining respectful boundaries.

Photography Rules

Food & Drinks: Usually, you can take photos of your orders.

Maids & Other Customers: Photos are not allowed unless specifically permitted.

Cheki (Polaroid Pictures): Many Cafes offer official photo sessions with your favorite Maid as a souvenir!
You should always ask to take pictures including food, the cafe, and especially customers and Maids.

Respect the Maids' Privacy
Do not ask for personal information such as:

Real name

Private Social media accounts

Phone number

Home address

No Meetings Outside the Cafe
All interactions with Maids must remain within the Cafe. Asking for dates, meetups, or any form of contact outside is strictly forbidden.

No Inappropriate Behavior
Avoid saying or doing anything that could make the Maids feel uncomfortable. This includes inappropriate jokes, comments, or actions.

Avoid speaking too loudly to respect the atmosphere of the Cafe.
Phone Use

If you need to take a call, step outside or to a designated area.
Seating & Movement

Stay in your seat unless given permission to move.

If you’d like to switch seats, ask a Maid first, they’ll likely allow it if the Cafe isn’t too crowded.

Do not roam around the Cafe unnecessarily.
Talking to Other Customers

Some visitors prefer a private experience, so it's best to read the room before engaging in conversation with others.

メイドさんに触れない
メイドさんとの身体的な接触は禁止されています。握手やハグを含め、どのような接触も避けましょう。

写真撮影のルール

料理・ドリンクの撮影: ほとんどのカフェで許可されています。

メイドさん・他のお客様の撮影: 基本的に禁止されています。（許可がある場合を除く）

チェキ（ポラロイド写真）: 多くのカフェでは、お気に入りのメイドさんと記念写真が撮れるサービスがあります！
食べ物やカフェの店内、特にお客様やメイドさんを撮影する際は、必ず許可を取るようにしましょう。

メイドさんとの交流はカフェ内限定です。デートや外での待ち合わせをお願いすることはできません。
